The Ledger toolbar

The Dentrix Ledger includes a toolbar to provide easy access to most of Ledger's tools.

Patient Chart

Click to enter patient treatment and conditions, document and track patient care, enter periodontal treatment information, and explain and demonstrate proposed treatment to patients.

Family File

Click to store and display important patient information, such as the patient’s name, address, phone number, health history, birth date, insurance coverage, employer, and referral information.

Appointment Book

Click to electronically manage your patient appointments.

Office Manager

Click to use several tools and reports to evaluate and improve the management processes of your practice.

eDex

Click to manage and quickly search lists of patients (active, inactive, or archived), employers, insurance carriers, labs, non-patients, providers, staff, referrals, and any other contact you may want to remember. You can also create custom contacts and contact categories to filter the Contacts List or even locate a patient's next appointment.

DXWeb

Click to open the DXWeb toolbar which works in conjunction with eCentral to provide you with the tools necessary to connect your Dentrix software to the internet.

DentriXlink

Click to link to supported third-party X-ray and imaging systems you've installed on your computer; if none are installed, clicking this button displays a list of third-party digital X-ray and imaging systems that you can use with Dentrix.

Quick Letters

Click to combine data from your Dentrix database with the word processing abilities of Microsoft Word to quickly create a letter for a single patient.

Quick Labels

Click to quickly print a variety of labels for the selected patient.

Continuing Care

Click to monitor your patients’ pending dental care and communicate information and reminders easily and effectively with groups of patients.

Send Message

Click to create and send an email message to patients in your Dentrix database.

Questionnaires

Click to electronically gather and store the same patient information that is included on new patient forms, health history updates, and other paper forms used in your office. A red check mark in the icon indicates that the patient has filled out a questionnaire.

Patient Forms

Click to open the login page for the Dentrix Communications website. From this website, you can create custom patient forms.

Health History

Click to create a record of a selected patient's medical conditions and allergies. The icon is white if the selected patient doesn't have a record.

Prescriptions

Click to quickly create prescriptions and accurately track medicines prescribed to your patients. If a prescription bottle appears in the icon, the patient has a prescription.

Office Journal

Click to keep a record of past events and to remind you of events in the future.

Document Center

Click to scan, capture, and import many types of documents, such as patient letters, EOBs (explanation of benefits), and referral letters or images (such as patient pictures and X-rays). You can attach these documents to patients, providers, insurance carriers, and referral sources. If papers appear in the lower drawer of the icon, the patient has documents saved to the Document Center.

Treatment Planner

Click to provide patients with easy-to-understand treatment options. When used in conjunction with the Dentrix Presenter, the Treatment Planner provides powerful case presentations.

Dentrix Marketplace

Click to open your browser and connect to the Dentrix Marketplace website from which you have many options for enhancing and expanding your Dentrix platform including partner solutions that have been tested and certified to work with Dentrix.

Send Payment Request by Text

Click to send a request for payment or billing related matters by text message to patients aged 18 years and older.

RCM Dashboard

Click to open the RCM Dashboard. You must have an eTrans User ID and password and be an eClaims or QuickBill customer to open the RCM Dashboard.

Process EOBs-Batch Insurance Payment Entry

Click to open the Batch Insurance Payment Entry dialog box. From this dialog box, you can post check and electronic insurance payments.

CareCredit

Click to access and manage your CareCredit account. You can also make and refund payments.

Select Patient

Click to select the patient whose billing information you want to work with.

Refresh

Click to refresh the transaction log.

Billing/Payment Agreement

Click to open the family's billing and payment agreement information. A gray-toned icon indicates that there is no billing/payment agreement.

Payment Agreement Manager

Click to open the Payment Agreement Manager.

Submission History

Click to open the Electronic Statement Submission History window from which you can preview statements, view submissions by guarantor or by submission month or date, and open the RCM Dashboard.

Import Online Payment

Click to open the Import Online Payments dialog box. You must set up eTrans to import online payments and other information to Dentrix.

Guarantor Notes

Click to open the family's account and billing statement notes. A gray-toned icon indicates that the family account does not have a Guarantor Note attached.

Enter Payment

Click to enter a guarantor payment.

Enter Procedure

Click to post a procedure for the patient.

Insurance Today's Procedures

Click to create a claim for the procedures posted today.

Insurance Selected Procedures

Click to create a claim for the selected procedures.

 

Claims Manager

Click to open the Claims Manager window from which you can view all claims and sort or search claims by status, such as Batched, eSent, and so on.

Display Treatment Plan Option

Click to change to the Treatment Plan view. Click the button again to toggle back to the Ledger view.

Enter Tax/Discount

Click to add a tax or discount to the account.

Saved Credit Cards

Click to manage and/or add credit/debit cards that are associated with a family's account in Dentrix Pay.

Print Walkout

Click to print a walkout statement for the current day's work.

Process Billing Statement

Click to print a single billing statement for the account.

Print Family Ledger

Click to print a Family Ledger Report for the account.

Fast Checkout

Click to post a payment, create a claim, and print a walkout according to selected options.

Patient Alerts

Click to view and edit alerts for the patient.

Patient Referrals

Click to view related referrals for the patient.

More Information

Click to display additional patient information, some of which is not available in the initial Family File window. You can view or access patient contact information, family members, appointment history, continuing care due dates, and balance information.

Resource Center

Click to open your browser and connect to the Dentrix Resource Center.

Dentrix Chat

Click to begin a chat session with Customer Support.
