Canadian claims overview

You can create, transmit, and manage electronic insurance claims using CDANet or iTrans in Canada.

To access Canadian claims

From the Report menu, point to Insurance, and then click Canadian Claims.

The Canadian Claims window appears.

The window consists of the Control Panel and a viewing area. Each time you click a link on the Control Panel, a new tab appears in the viewing area. You can hide, show, and resize the Control Panel to suit your preferences. Do any of the following to customize the panel:

·        To un-pin the panel (so that it is hidden until you position your pointer over or click the Control Panel button), click the down-facing pin .

·        To pin the panel (so that it is always displayed in the window), click the side-facing pin .

·        To resize the width of the panel, position your pointer over the left edge of the panel until the cursor changes to a double arrow , and then drag the edge of the panel to increase or reduce the width as desired.

Also, in the upper-right corner of the viewing area, there is a down arrow; click this down arrow to open a menu with options to close the tab currently displayed or close all tabs.

The Control Panel provides options for the following tasks (click a link to learn more):

·        Setting up general, carrier, location, and insurance profile preferences.

·        Working with pending requests for printed claims and pre-determinations.

·        Handling electronic claim reversals and incomplete requests.

·        Working with electronic responses for claim acknowledgments, claim EOBs, claim reversals, pre-determination acknowledgments, pre-determination EOBs, and eligibilities. Also, you can force an update of the responses.
