Before you can use ePrescribe, you must activate it to interface with
Dentrix, enroll with Veradigm, and sign up with ID.me. Once done, you
can begin the process of creating and sending electronic prescriptions.
Watch this video to learn how to activate ePrescribe. (Duration 5:04)
An ePrescribe user can be a provider (doctor), someone who can
prescribe-on-behalf (POB) of a doctor, or another type of staff
member. POB users can prepare controlled substance prescriptions (for
doctors to complete later) and prescribe non-controlled substances.
You can have more than one user assigned as an administrator in
ePrescribe. This is beneficial as administrators can reset other
user's passwords if needed.
Once providers are uploaded to ePrescribe, they cannot be removed;
however, they can be disabled in ePrescribe.
If the user already has a Veradigm account (e.g., through a previous
dental practice), they should select
Link Accounts and follow the directions to link their
Veradigm account to their new practice. There can only be one Veradigm
account for each user.
If the user is designated as a Doctor, they must download the ID.me
Authenticator app to their smartphone (or tablet) and complete the ID
proofing verification process with ID.me. If the user is a POB or
staff member, they do not need ID.me.
The ID.me Authenticator app generates a code that “authenticates” you
in ePrescribe as the doctor creating a prescription for a controlled
substance. You cannot prescribe a controlled substance without the
code from ID.me.
