Setting up EHR preferences

You can set up the preferences for EHR.

To set up the preferences

1.   From the Utilities menu, click Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box appears.

2.   On the Operation tab, in the Security section, under EHR, set the following options:

·        In the Allow altering of lists for security level greater then or equal to box, enter the minimum security access level required for a user to customize the list for lists (through the Edit List links).

·        In the Hide EHR Narrative Edits for security level less than or equal to box, enter the minimum security access level required for a user to see the EHR Narratives edit pane and be able to add/edit EHR Narratives.

3.   In the Electronic Health Record (EHR) section, set up the following options:

·        Show Narrative Screen in independent window - With this setting turned on, when you open the EHR Narratives window, you can move that window to another monitor on a computer configured to use dual monitors (without having to move the entire program window to another monitor).

·        Allow Narrative Window to Resize - Select this check box to allow the EHR Narrative window to be resized.

·        Open RapidPost Form with new case - Select this check box if you want to open a RapidPost Form with each new case.

·        Hide The Clinical/Radiographic Examinations and Tests - Select this check box to hide the Assessment - Clinical/Radiographic Exams and Tests section in the EHR window.

·        Hide canals / extended treatment summary - Select this check box to hide the canals section and extended treatment summary section in EHR.

·        Lock all Unreviewed Narratives after [number of] days - Enter the number of days after which you want narratives that have not been reviewed to become locked automatically. When a narrative is reviewed, marked complete, and locked, the user number of the person who was logged on at that time is shown in the Locked By column; however, for a narrative that is automatically locked, the Locked By column will have "System Lock."

·       Image Format - Specify the default format to use for image files in EHR.

·        Anesthesia Time - Select 5 (preferred), 10, 15, or 30 to specify the default unit of time when adding an anesthesia record.

·        TruForms: Auto-add medications to Master list of Prescriptions - With this setting turned on, medications reported by a patient using truForms are automatically added to the Medical Prescriptions Table.
Note: This option is only available if the Pre-Registration Connection and Use new API options are enabled in the System Setup by Customer Support.

·        Display EHR Narrative Edit on - Specify whether you want the EHR Narrative Edit pane (with Edit Fields and Case Fields) to display on the Left or Right side of the EHR Narrative Edit window.

·        EHR Narrative: Auto Merge Fields - Select this option to automatically merge the template fields that auto-populate when the template is selected.

·        Turn on Hide/Rename tabs - Select this option if you want to be able to either hide or rename tabs in the Subjective - Record or Objective - History sections in EHR.

4.   Click Ok.
