Scheduling appointments

When you are scheduling appointments, you are notified if a patient already has an unscheduled or broken appointment. You can view the patient’s appointment list to determine whether you want to reschedule an appointment or schedule a new appointment.

To schedule an appointment

1.   In the Schedule toolbar, click the Schedule Appointment button.

The Select Patient dialog box appears.

 

2.    Select the patient you want to schedule an appointment for, and then click OK.

The New Appointment Information dialog box appears.

3.   Do one or more of the following as necessary:

·        ProviderTo change providers, click the search button.

Note: The provider defaults to the primary provider selected for the patient in the Patients module.

·        Recall AttachedTo change the recall type, click the search button.

·        Reason To set a reason for the appointment, click one of the following buttons:

·        Initial – If you are seeing the patient for an initial visit, such as an exam or a prophy.

·        Tx – If you previously created a treatment plan for the patient.

·        Misc – If you are seeing the patient for an unplanned treatment.

Note: A description of the appointment appears in the Desc: text box, and Easy Dental assigns a length of time and a fee for the selected procedures. If the patient already has an appointment scheduled for the selected procedures, the date appears.

4.   To change the length of time needed to complete the procedure, click the min search button.

5.   Set the following options from the respective lists:

·        Status – Select the appropriate status from the list.

·        Schedule – Select the appropriate schedule type from the list.

·        Fixed – Indicates that the patient's appointment date and time cannot change.

·        Open – Indicates that the patient can change the date and time of the appointment if necessary.

·        ASAP – Indicates that the patient must be seen as quickly as possible.

·        Type – Select the appointment type appropriate for this appointment.

6.   If necessary, do one or more of the following:

·        To change operatories, click the Op search button.

·        To set or change a date for the appointment, click the Date search button.

·        To set or change the time of an appointment, click the Time search button.

7.   If appropriate, type a note in the Note text box.

8.   To add the appointment to the Schedule, click OK.
