In most offices, charting is entered in order by treatment status. For example, during a new patient exam, the treatment provider may first chart existing work and conditions. Once existing work has been charted, the provider may enter recommended or planned work. Finally, work completed that day may be entered.
To make charting in this manner easier, Dentrix Enterprise provides the Auto-State button. To save you the extra step of entering the status for each procedure individually, the Auto-State button keeps the status button of the type of treatment you are charting selected and assigns that status to procedures entered.
Note: Charting existing treatment requires the "Existing Procedures, Enter" security right. Charting planned treatment requires the "Treatment Plan, Enter" security right. Charting completed treatment requires the "Completed Procedure, Enter" security right.
To chart with the Auto-State button
With a patient selected in Chart, if applicable, select a provider other than the default chart provider for the patient's charting session.
Note: The selected provider will be assigned to all procedures, conditions, and diagnoses that you chart during the current charting session.
To turn on auto-state, click the Auto-State button, which has a plus sign (+). By default, the Treat Plan status is used, but you can use a different status.

The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Treatment Plan, Enter" security right.
