Use the status buttons and boxes to specify what you are posting. A posted procedure or condition appears on the Progress Notes panel and is painted on the graphical chart (if a charting symbol is used in conjunction with that procedure or condition) in the color that is assigned to the corresponding status.
The following options are available:
EO (Existing Other) - Use this button to enter existing work that was performed by a provider outside of your practice. (This is used almost exclusively for charting existing work for new patients).
Ex (Existing) - Use this button to enter existing work that was performed by a provider within your practice. (This is used almost exclusively for charting past work done by your office).
Treat Plan (Treatment Planned) - Use this button to enter planned or recommended treatment.
Completed - Use this button to enter completed treatment.
Auto-State - Use this button to chart multiple procedures with same status.
To turn on auto-state, click the Auto-State button. The Auto-State button remains depressed and has a minus sign (-), and the procedure status button that you click will remain depressed until you click another procedure status button.
To turn off auto-state, click the Auto-State button again. The Auto-State button is no longer depressed and has a plus sign (+), and a procedure status button is no longer depressed.
Important: If you do not turn off the auto-state when you finish charting for a patient, whatever status was selected will remain selected for the next patient’s charting session.
Surfaces - This box shows the surfaces, if applicable, for the procedure being posted. You can enter the first letter of each surface, separated by commas, in the box.
Procedure code - This box shows the procedure code being posted. You can enter a procedure code in the box.
Note: To clear the procedure code and any surfaces from the boxes and deselect any teeth that are selected on the graphical chart, click Clear below the procedure buttons.
