Key Information
Connecting a PINpad device to Dentrix Pay requires assistance from
Henry Schein One's Dentrix Pay Support Team (800.336.8749). They will
install the necessary device drivers and a required Windows service
from Worldpay called "TriPOS." The TriPOS service must be installed
for the PINpad to communicate successfully with Dentrix Pay and must
always be running for Dentrix Pay to function. Once the software is
installed, and the PINpad is connected, you can then activate the
PINpad to interconnect with Dentrix.
Dentrix Pay only supports PINpad devices that Worldpay provides. These
same PINpads, if purchased from other third-party retailers, will not
work with Dentrix Pay because they won't have the customized software
that's designed to function with Worldpay.
Before you can activate a PINpad device, the Account Token, Acceptor
ID, and Account ID must be saved in Dentrix, in their respective
fields in Dentrix Pay Setup. If you haven't already entered them,
obtain them from your
My IQ resource portal
and enter and save them in Dentrix Pay Setup.
The PINpad's description is only visible in Dentrix, and it's often
used to remind users where the PINpad is located in the office. It has
a 20-character limit, and you may want to enter a unique description
that will readily identify its location, such as Front Desk PC or
Billing PC. (Also, you may want to attach a label on the back of the
device with the same description.)
The "Idle Screen Message" that you enter will be visible on the PINpad
for your patients to see. As the message has a 20-character limit, you
might want a simple message, like "Welcome!" or the name of your
practice.
PINpads are not workstation-specific. If you need to move the PINpad
to another workstation, simply disconnect it, connect it to the new
computer, and activate it on the new workstation. However, constantly
moving PINpads from one workstation to another is not recommended, as
it might cause connectivity issues.
