EDS takes most of the paperwork — and most of the work — out of insurance claim processing by electronically submitting them for you. As a result, you'll reduce the time-consuming data entry and follow-up processes required for paper claims. And your claims will be submitted more efficiently, with fewer errors and omissions, resulting in fewer returned/denied claims and quicker payments to your practice.

This quick start video demonstrates how to submit claims that originated in Eaglesoft to the EDS Bridge. To access the EDS Bridge, Eaglesoft users must open the Bridge from Microsoft Windows.
Key Information
If many claims are listed in the Process Insurance Claims window, you can search for specific claims by name in the Find Name: search field. You can also sort the list by clicking the column headers.
The Show What section categorizes the active claims in Eaglesoft. Choose a category to refine the claims you want to view and send to EDS.
For claims to process from Eaglesoft to the EDS Bridge, Eaglesoft must establish the correct printer configuration as an EDS Claims Capture printer. This configuration "prints" (converts) the claims’ information into text documents and places them into a directory folder from which EDS pulls the documents to read and load into the EDS Bridge. For help configuring the printer with Eaglesoft, contact EDS Support.
In the Process Insurance Claims window, clicking the Process button sends the selected claims to the EDS Claims Capture printer/directory folder. If that printer has not been selected before choosing the Process button, an error message will display for each claim selected in the list. Select Yes to accept the message for each claim; click the Setup button; choose the EDS Claims Capture printer; and click the Process button again to process the claims correctly.
Only claims in the Unsubmitted category, assigned a Blank ADA form, can be sent to EDS.
In the EDS Bridge, claims listed under the Claims tab are NOT YET with EDS but are still in your Eaglesoft database. Therefore, to send the claims to EDS, you must select the claims you want to send and click the Send button. Then, open the Manage Claims tab and click the Load button. Only then are the claims loaded into the EDS Bridge, under the Claims At EDS category. Next, EDS will review them and classify them as either rejected, requiring an attachment(s), or ready to send to insurance carriers (payers).
At the end of the day, only those claims in the Ready To Send category are submitted electronically (batched out) to their respective insurance carriers (payers). Any claims still in the EDS Review category will remain there until EDS reviews them. Likewise, any claims in the Rejected or Requires Attach categories will stay there until your office either edits the claims or manage any required attachments, respectively.
After the claims are batched out, EDS generates the Day End Confirmation Report, which you can view by selecting the Reports tab of the EDS Bridge.
