EDS integrates with Eaglesoft to streamline your practice's workflows for claim attachments, as EDS identifies which attachments your carriers require, such as x-rays, perio charts, EOBs, etc. Consequently, EDS can help you conserve valuable time that was once spent managing insurance-required attachments.
Watch this video to learn how to manage attachments in EDS. (Duration 1:52)
This video demonstrates functions in the EDS Bridge with data that originated in Eaglesoft. (To access the EDS Bridge, Eaglesoft users must open the Bridge from Microsoft Windows.)
Key Information
Using EDS, you can add attachments with the following two methods:
Copy From Clipboard – To use this feature, you must first capture an image to the Microsoft clipboard, and then you can select Copy From Clipboard to add the attachment to the claim. You can capture an image with the copy command in any Windows application; or, you can press the Print-Screen key to copy what you see on-screen to the clipboard. You can use this key two different ways:
Press the Print-Screen key by itself to capture everything that's displayed on your computer's monitor.
Press and hold the Alt key as you press the Print Screen key. This function will capture only the active window you currently have open.
Capture Screen – This feature will change the mouse cursor into a cross-hairs cursor, allowing you to isolate an area of the screen that you want to copy. For example, after pressing the Capture Screen button, place the cross-hairs cursor at a starting point on an image. While holding down the left-mouse button, drag the cross-hairs from the starting point to the opposite corner of that point, and then release the mouse button. The isolated area is captured as an image and added to the claim.
If you want to submit a claim to a carrier while ignoring EDS's "required attachment(s)" condition, right-click the claim and select Remove Attachment Requirement. The claim is sent to the Ready To Send category without the required attachment(s).
You may choose to add attachments in Eaglesoft instead of EDS. To do so, right-click the claim that requires an attachment and select Open in PMS. Add the attachment(s) in Eaglesoft and resubmit the claim to EDS. (Note that if you select Manage Attachments in the EDS Bridge, before opening the claim in Eaglesoft, EDS displays the attachment requirement(s) for you.)
If the claim is secondary, the attachment requirement will likely be a copy of the primary claim's EOB. You can capture and attach the EOB or select Remove Attachment Requirement and send a physical copy of the EOB to the carrier.
If you need to rotate an image, click the Rotate button until it displays correctly.
