Some claims may require an attachment before you can submit them. You can add the attachment in one of two ways:
· Using a screen capture tool - Before you begin, make sure you have the attachment information visible somewhere on your screen so you can capture it as an image file.
· By copying the attachment image from the Clipboard - Before you begin, select the window or screen with the desired content, and then press Alt+PrtScn on your keyboard to capture the selected window or screen to the Clipboard. (You won't see the capture until you get to step 4 below.)
To add and send attachments
1. From the Manage Claims tab, under Claims At EDS, click Requires Attach.
Note: Claims requiring an attachment appear with a red paperclip icon to the left of them.
2. Right-click the claim where you'd like to add an attachment.
3. From the shortcut menu, click Manage Attachments.
The Attachments window appears.
4. Do one of the following:
· Click Capture Screen; in the small window that appears, click Capture Screen again, then use the crosshairs pointer to click and drag from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the area you want to capture.
· Click Copy From Clipboard to copy the image you previously saved in the Clipboard.
The attachment appears in the list under Attachments, and the image appears under Image Display.
5. Specify whether the attachment is an X-Ray or Non X-Ray.
Note: Your selection determines the options that appear in the Image Type list to the right.
6. You can change the Date Taken if you have a reason to, but you will generally leave it set to today's date, which is inserted for you.
7. Under Image Type, select the type of image you are submitting.
8. Under Orientation, choose which orientation the image uses.
Note: This option only appears when you select X-Ray as it doesn't apply to non-X-rays.
9. When finished, click Save to save the attachment.
Note: The paperclip icon to the left of this claim now changes from red to green, and an empty check box appears in the selection column to the far left.
10. Select the check box that appears in the selection column to the far left.
Note: With the check box selected, the Send Attachments button is now available.
11. Do one of the following:
· If you are ready to send the attachment you added, click Send Attachments.
· If you need to add other attachments before sending, repeat steps 2-10 to add those attachments, and then click Send Attachments.
12. At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.
A quick validation is performed, and if there are no other problems with the claim attachment(s), all selected claims are moved to the Ready To Send state and appear in the Ready to Send list under Claims At EDS; if problems are found, the Send Attachments message box reports those problems.
13. Click OK.
All claims are sent from EDS in a batch at the end of the workday at 7:45 CST. At that time, EDS also generates the Day End Confirmation Report, which you can view on the Reports tab.
