Marking appointments as missed
You can change the status of an appointment to mark it as a missed appointment. A missed appointment is one that was broken by the patient, that the patient failed to appear for without providing notice, or that the office canceled. When you mark an appointment as having been missed, it remains on the schedule but is transparent, so you can easily differentiate it from other appointments. Also, you can specify the reason that the appointment was missed/broken/canceled and the date and time of the cancellation.
To mark an appointment as missed

On the Schedule menu, click (or tap) Calendar.
The Calendar page opens.

Click (or tap) an appointment.
The Appointment Information panel opens.

From the Status list, select one of the following options:

Broken - The patient contacted the office and canceled the appointment.

No Show - The patient failed to appear for his or her appointment without informing the office.

Cancelled by Office - The office contacted the patient and canceled the appointment.
The options for missed appointments appear.

Enter a reason for the missed/broken/canceled appointment, and change the date and time of the cancellation as needed.
Set up any of the following options:

Date and Time - The current date and time are inserted automatically when the appointment status is changed to Broken, No Show, or Cancelled by Office. However, you can change the date and time to reflect correct date and time of the cancellation if necessary.

Advanced Notice - If you have changed the status to Broken, how long before the scheduled time of the appointment that the status was changed appears for your reference.

Reason for Missing Appointment - If known, enter the reason that the appointment was missed, broken, or canceled.

Do one of the following:

To save the changes and reschedule the appointment, click (or tap) Reschedule Now. (If you do not reschedule the appointment now, you can do so at a later time.)

To save the changes without rescheduling the appointment, click (or tap) Save.
