Deleting insurance carriers
You can delete an insurance carrier if that carrier meets all of the following criteria:

The carrier is not associated with any claims. You must delete claims for the carrier before you can delete the carrier.

The carrier does not have any insurance plans associated with it. You must first delete all the plans associated with that carrier before you can delete the carrier. (Remove the plans from the associated subscribers first.)

The carrier does not have any subscribers for any of the plans associated with it. You must first remove the plans associated with that carrier from all associated subscribers before you can delete the carrier.

No providers, including locations or corresponding billing entities that are set up as billing providers, are contracted with the carrier. You must first deselect that carrier in the Contracted with section of the settings for all contracted providers and locations before you can delete the carrier.
If you delete an insurance carrier that was added to Dentrix Ascend from the list of supported carriers that Henry Schein One maintains, the carrier is removed from your organization's database but not from the list that Henry Schein One maintains.
Note: Deleting an insurance carrier requires the "Delete Carriers" security right.
To delete an insurance carrier

On the Home menu, under Insurance, click (or tap) Carriers.
The Insurance Carriers page opens.

Select an insurance carrier.
Tip: To help you locate an insurance carrier quickly, in the Filter box, enter part or all of a carrier's name, plan/employer, or group number to filter the carrier list so that it displays only those carriers that match what you enter.
The options for editing the insurance carrier's information become available.

Click (or tap) Delete.
A confirmation message appears.

Click (or tap) OK.
