Customizing practice definitions

Practice definitions are user-definable entries that allow you to customize Dentrix for the needs your practice. For example, you can customize billing types and alert notes. Before customizing any definitions, please read the following recommendations:

You can customize practice definitions at any time; however, to avoid potential problems, customize only the definitions that you have not yet assigned to patients.

The definition number is assigned to patients, not the customizable description. Modifying the description of a definition changes that definition for all patients you assigned the definition to.

Before changing or deleting a definition, please refer to Changing a practice definition and Deleting a practice definition.

Practice definitions are listed in numerical order. As a result, the first definition serves as the default selection for most definition types. Be sure to make the most commonly used definition the first definition in the list.
