One-off text and email messages overview

One-off messages are a one-time-only communication tool that you can use to send email and/or text messages to your patients. (Text messages have a maximum of 160 characters). You can send one-off messages based on the date that patients are scheduled for an appointment. You can also create a custom list of recipients to send one-off messages to, for one-time use only.

Note: One-off messages are not automated communications; you must send them manually each time you want them sent. They also do not affect the maximum daily texts that can be sent to opt-neutral patients, since they are not classified as automated communications.

One-off messaging is a useful tool for communicating information and notifications to patients (with or without scheduled appointments) for a variety of reasons, including the following:

·        Notify patients of additional information and/or instructions prior to a scheduled appointment

·        Give notice of an unexpected or emergency situation that has arisen in the office

·        Request additional information from patients

·        Respond directly to patient inquiries and requests

·        Share important information with patients that were previously in the office

You can create one-off messages and save them as templates (both email and text) for future use for quick, routine, repeated communications.
