Adding periodontal exams
With ClinicalVision, you can add a periodontal exam for the current date.
To add an exam
1. Select a provider for the exam.
2. From the periodontal chart, on the Task pane, click Add to the view perio exam tools.
3. If the patient has had a recent exam, values from the exam are automatically copied to the new exam. If you want to clear out the values from the previous exam, click one of the Reset buttons:
· Reset All - Resets all values from the previous exam.
· Reset MGJ - Recession - Resets all recession values.
· Reset Bleeding Only - Resets only bleeding values.
4. At any time, for the selected site, under Site Conditions, click Bleeding or Delayed Bleeding and/or Suppuration to indicate any bleeding and/or suppuration. The position indicator on the graphical chart does not advance to the next site when you click these buttons. On the graphical chart, bleeding is represented with a red dot, delayed bleeding is represented with a little red dot, and suppuration is represented with a yellow dot.
5. Under Select Reading Type, choose the appropriate option:
· Pocket - Click this option to record pocket depths. Under Pocket Depth, click the box that corresponds to the appropriate value, or press the corresponding numerical key on your keyboard. Pocket depths are represented on the graphical chart as bars.
If auto-advance is enabled, the position indicator on the graphical chart auto-advances to the next site or tooth each time you click a numbered box.
· FGM - Click this option to record the free gingival margin. Under Enter Free Gingival Margin, click the box that corresponds to the appropriate value, or press the corresponding numerical key on your keyboard. The free gingival margin is represented on the graphical chart as a purple line graph.
If auto-advance is enabled, the position indicator on the graphical chart auto-advances to the next site or tooth each time you click a numbered box.
· MGJ - Click this option to record the mucogingival margin. Under Enter Muco-Gingival Junction, click the box that corresponds to the appropriate value, or press the corresponding numerical key on your keyboard. The mucogingival margin is represented on the graphical chart as a green line graph.
If auto-advance is enabled, the position indicator on the graphical chart auto-advances to the next site or tooth each time you click a numbered box.
· Mobility - Click this option to record the mobility of teeth. Under Enter Mobility, click the box that corresponds to the appropriate value, or press the corresponding numerical key on your keyboard. Mobility is represented on the graphical chart as a blue number with a double arrow.
If auto-advance is enabled, the position indicator on the graphical chart auto-advances to the next site or tooth each time you click a numbered box.
· Furcation - Click this option to record the furcation. Under Enter Furcation, click the box that corresponds to the appropriate value, or press the corresponding numerical key on your keyboard. Mobility is represented on the graphical chart as a light blue roman numeral.
If auto-advance is enabled, the position indicator on the graphical chart auto-advances to the next site or tooth each time you click a numbered box.
Note: If you need to undo the last operation, at any time, click the Undo button.
