Setting up advanced profiles

You can specify the default text for the fields and define where you want the text from those fields to appear as one pop-up message. The settings that you specify will be used for any new referrers that are added from this point on. You can also apply the settings to specific advanced profile fields for specific referrers.

To set up advanced profiles

In the Edit Referrer dialog box for any referrer, on the Advanced Profile tab, click Setup.

Note: Only users with a security level of nine can access the setup.

The Referrer Advanced Profile Setup dialog box appears.

Set up the following options:

Text Fields - To change the name of any field, type the name as you want it to appear on the Advanced Profile tab. In any of the fields, type the default text for the corresponding field on the Advanced Profile tab. As you begin typing in a text field, a formatting toolbar appears, so that you can change the font properties and modify the layout of the text.

Note: Any changes that you make to the fields will not affect saved information in the fields on the Advanced Profile tab for any existing referrers; only new referrers that get added from this point on will be affected.

Pop-up - The text in all the fields will appear as one pop-up message when the specified areas are accessed. To select the areas where you want a pop-up message to appear, click the button, select the desired check boxes, and then click OK.

Pop-up messages can appear in following areas of the program:

Patient Information Center - When opening the PIC of a patient with this referrer attached.

Billing - When posting charges for a patient with this referrer attached.

Payments - When posting payments for a patient with this referrer attached.

Create, Edit, Confirm Appts. - When scheduling, modifying, confirming an appointment for a patient with this referrer attached.

Treatment Plans - When viewing the treatment plans (on the Treatment Plans tab of the PIC) of a patient with this referrer attached.

Create EHR Case - When creating a new EHR case for a patient with this referrer attached.

Pre-registration Patient - When accessing the pre-registration information of a pre-registered patient with this referrer attached.

Create, Edit, Confirm Appts. For Pre-reg Patient - When scheduling, modifying, and confirming an appointments for a pre-registered patient with this referrer attached.

Note: Existing patient pop-up messages that are defined for a patient will appear before any referrer pop-up messages.

To apply the settings to specific fields on the Advanced Profile tab for specific referrers, do the following:

Click Update Referrers.

The Referrer Advanced Profile Update dialog box appears.

For each text field that you want to update, do the following:

To change the name of the corresponding field on the specified referrers' Advanced Profile tab with the corresponding name from the setup, select the Text Field check box.

To append or replace the contents of the corresponding field on the specified referrers' Advanced Profile tab, select the Text Box Details check box.

Select one of the following options from the list:

Add to Existing - To append the corresponding text from the setup to any existing text in the corresponding field on the specified referrers' Advanced Profile tab.

Replace Existing - To replace any existing text in the corresponding field on the specified referrers' Advanced Profile tab with the corresponding text from the setup.

To update the pop-up options, select the Pop Ups check box.

Select which active referrers you want to update:

Update All Referrers - All active referrers will be updated.

Update Selected Referrers - Select the active referrers to update from the list box that appears. To select multiple non-contiguous referrers, while holding down the Ctrl key, click each referrer. To select a range of multiple contiguous referrers, click the first referrer in the desired range, and then, while holding down the Shift key, click the last referrer in the desired range. Only the selected referrers will be updated.

Update Selected Specialty - Select specialties from the list box that appears. To select multiple non-contiguous specialties, while holding down the Ctrl key, click each specialty. To select a range of multiple contiguous specialties, click the first specialty in the desired range, and then, while holding down the Shift key, click the last specialty in the desired range. Only those active referrers who are associated with one of the selected specialties will be updated.

Update Selected Company/Practice - Select companies/practices from the list box that appears. To select multiple non-contiguous companies/practices, while holding down the Ctrl key, click each company/practice. To select a range of multiple contiguous companies/practices, click the first company/practice in the desired range, and then, while holding down the Shift key, click the last company/practice in the desired range. Only those active referrers who are associated with one of the selected companies/practices will be updated.

Click OK.

On the confirmation message that appears, click Yes.

Click OK.
