Understanding CV DV missing tooth chart matching
On the Preferences Charting tab, you can select CV DV missing tooth chart matching if you want ClinicalVision to sync with OMSVision so that missing teeth match across the two tools. When you select this option, ClinicalVision and OMSVision will ensure that missing teeth match in both tools. A summary of the process is described here:
OMSVision immediately creates a one-time backup of the patient teeth information and also creates a snapshot of missing teeth from the patient's Document Center. (No data is changed at this point.)
The Primary Dentition Age setting (used for both ClinicalVision and OMSVision) ensures that teeth aren't misidentified as "missing teeth" simply because of a difference in the primary dentition age across the two tools.
The initial state of the patient's teeth on the patient's registration date is used as a starting point.
Note: If the patient's age on the registration date is under the Primary Dentition Age setting (see step 2 above), it is assumed that the patient initially has primary teeth only. If the patient's age on the registration date is equal to or over the Primary Dentition Age, it is assumed that the patient initially has permanent teeth only.
ClinicalVision conditions are added to the initial tooth state in the same order these conditions were initially applied.
Notes:
If there are two "missing tooth" conditions for the same tooth at same date in ClinicalVision and OMSVision, the ClinicalVision condition will be processed and the other will be ignored.
If a "missing tooth" condition was applied to a primary tooth, and there are any "missing tooth" conditions applied to the permanent tooth (including ClinicalVision conditions), it is assumed that the permanent condition was applied to the permanent tooth using the Tooth Selector.
The matching results appear in the Tooth Selector.
Note: If the missing tooth chart matching results in invalid conditions being applied to a missing tooth (because the tooth is missing), the condition is highlighted in yellow in the Tooth Selector. You will need to manually delete one of these conditions later to resolve the conflict.
