Adding and viewing alerts

You can manually create certain alerts and view various alerts as needed.

To add an alert

On the Medical History/Allergies/Alerts panel of a patient's Patient Information Center, in the Alerts! section, select any of the following options:

·        Premedicate - Select this check box to create an alert to specify that the patient has requested to be medicated prior to treatment. The text becomes red if this check box is selected.

·        Latex Allergy - Select this check box to create an alert to specify that the patient has a latex allergy. The text becomes red if this check box is selected.

To view alerts

The following warnings can appear in the Alerts section:

Cycle - This alert indicates that a payment has not been made in over 30 days or the patient has been turned over to collections. This can be based on only patient payments or on patient or insurance payments according to a preference setting.

Pre-med - This alert indicates that the patient needs to be medicated before dental treatment.

Recall - This alert indicates that the patient is due or overdue for a recall appointment.

Med-Hx - This alert indicates that the medical history needs to be updated.

Markers - This alert indicates that the patient has markers. Click the alert button to open the User-defined Markers dialog box, which displays a list of markers attached to this patient.

Latex Allergy - This alert indicates that the patient is allergic to latex.

If the patient has any alerts, a red, blinking outline appears around the area that contains the alert icons.
