Adding and editing EHR treatment templates
You can create an EHR treatment template for the type of procedures being performed.
To add or edit a treatment template
1. From the File menu, point to Codes and Lists > EHR Templates, and then click Treatment.
The Treatment Templates window appears.
2. Do one of the following:
· To add a treatment template, click Add.
· To edit an existing treatment template, select a treatment template, and then click Edit.
The Edit Treatment Template dialog box appears.
3. Under Template Properties, set up the following options:
· Description - Type a description for the treatment template. This field is limited to 50 characters.
· Tx Type - Select a treatment type.
Tip: To edit the list of treatment types that appear in the Tx Type list, click the Edit List link. Select the desired types, or click the Add Item button to enter a new item (up to 12 characters in length). Click Close.
· Comments - Type any comments regarding the treatment template.
· Active - Select this check box to make the treatment template active. If this check box is cleared, the only way to view the treatment template in the Treatment Templates window is to select Show Inactives in that window.
4. Click Add to add another field list or Delete to delete the selected list under Field List. You can only delete unused items. If you try to delete an item that is in use, a message appears and asks if you want to inactivate the item instead.
5. Under Field List, for each item, select a treatment field.
Tip: Click the Field List button to customize the items that appear in the field lists.
6. Click the Sort Order up and down arrows to change the position of the selected list in the Field List.
7. Click OK.
