Managing note templates
You can create note templates to make entering general and tooth notes quickly. Use templates for notations you frequently use that require only slight modifications or additions. When you create a note using a template or insert a template into a note, you can make minor changes to the inserted text to customize it for the patient or situation and be done quickly. You no longer have to create notes that are similar and repetitive from scratch each time.
To manage note templates
1. In ClinicalVision, with all notes being displayed in the Notes list, click the section’s down arrow to open a menu, point to Manage Templates, and then click Manual Templates.
The Note Templates dialog box appears.
2. Do one of the following:
· Click New to add a new template.
· Select an existing template, and then click Edit to modify that template.
· Select a template, and then click Delete to remove that template (ignore step 3). This does not affect saved notes that were made using the deleted template.
If you are adding or editing a template, the Note Template dialog box appears.
3. Set up the following options:
· Name – Type a name for the template. The name is what you will see in the menu when you are choosing a template to use for a note.
· Description – Type a brief description of the purpose and/or content of the template.
· Text – Type the text for the template and format it as needed.
Note: The formatting options are available only if rich text formatting setting is enabled and you are adding a new template or editing a template that was created after the aforementioned setting was enabled.
4. Click OK.
