Deleting explosion codes
An explosion code is a group of procedure codes that are usually scheduled, completed, or recommended at the same time. You can use explosion codes to post many procedures simultaneously. For example, a root canal appointment may consist of several procedures, each with its own procedure time and fee. Instead of posting or schedule each of these procedures individually, you can use an explosion code to group them together, thus saving considerable time in posting and scheduling. To learn more, click Adding explosion codes and/or Editing explosion codes.
Note: Explosion codes appear in the Enter Procedure dialog box in the Accounts module for easy selection. You can also find a list of all explosion codes whenever you select procedure codes. They appear in the explosion codes procedure category.
To delete an explosion code
1. In the Patient Banner, click the Settings button.
The Settings dialog box appears.
2. In the Practice Setup list, click Explosion-Code Setup.
The Explosion Code List dialog box appears.
3. Select the explosion code that you want to delete, and then click Delete.
Note: Editing or defining an explosion code will not affect any procedures that have been previously posted for a patient. It will affect any appointment for which the explosion code is scheduled.
