Entering procedures using explosion codes

You can use Easy Dental explosion codes to post a single code to enter several procedures at once. Explosion codes consist of several procedure codes that you typically schedule, recommend, or complete at the same time. Instead of posting each code separately, you only need to enter the explosion code, and Easy Dental posts the individual codes for you.

To enter procedures using an explosion code

1.   Select a patient.

2.   In the Accounts toolbar, click Enter Procedure.

The Enter Procedure(s) dialog box appears.

3.   Do one of the following:

·        Double-click the explosion code that you want to use.

·        Select the code from the list and click Add.

The explosion code appears in the Procedure List.

4.   Select the procedure, and if necessary, type the tooth number and the appropriate surface or surfaces (an asterisk indicates that you need to provide a tooth number and surfaces).

Note: If necessary, you can update the procedure in the Procedure List by clicking Change.

5.   To complete the process and post the procedures to the transaction log, click OK/Post.
