Adding future due payment plans

You can add future due payment plans that you can use to charge accounts monthly for work in progress, such as orthodontics. The number of charges or payments for future due payment plans are calculated monthly. Keep this in mind when you determine the number of charges for a future due payment plan.

To add a future due payment plan

1.   Select the patient you want to set up a future due payment plan for.

2.   In the Accounts toolbar, click Future Due Payment Plan.

The Select Payment Plan dialog box appears.

3.   Select a provider for the payment plan, and then click OK.

The Create Payment Plan dialog box appears.

Note: The current date displays automatically as the Date of Agreement and First Payment Due Date. If necessary, change the dates.

4.   Do the following:

·        Total Plan Amount – Type the total amount to be charged over time.

·        Down Pay. Charge – Type the down payment that you want to charge the patient.

·        # of Charges – Type the number of charges or payments.

Easy Dental calculates the charge amount automatically and enters it in the Charge Amount field.

·        Charge Amount – Type the charge or payment amount.

Easy Dental calculates the number of charges automatically and enters it in the # of Charges field.

·        Charge Proc. Code – Type the procedure code or click the search button and select the procedure code that Easy Dental should use to post the monthly charge.

Note: If an ADA code does not exist for the type of charge you want to post, you can create one.

·        Auto Ins Claim – Select to generate an insurance claim automatically whenever a monthly charge posts.

·        Auto Charge – Select to post a monthly charge to an account.

5.   To add detail or clarification for the payment plan, type the information in the Note field.

6.   To provide the patient with a payment/coupon book, select Print Payment Book.

7.   When you have entered all the information for the payment plan, click OK.

If you selected Print Payment Book, the Payment Book dialog box appears.

8.   Do the following:

·        Select Form Type

·        Pre-Printed Form – To print the coupon book on pre-formatted paper.

·        Plain Form – To print the coupon book on plain white paper and let Easy Dental format the book.

·        Select Printer Type

·        Laser Printer – To print the coupon book to a laser printer.

·        Dot Matrix Printer – To print the coupon book to a dot matrix printer.

·        Send to Batch – To send the book to the Batch Processor for printing at a later time.

·        Print – To print the book immediately.

Note: During your month-end processes, run the Future Due Payment Plans utility to post charges to individual accounts.
