Sending claims from Eaglesoft 21.2 and later to EDS

You can send claims individually or as a group from your Eaglesoft software to EDS, where you can then view, filter, edit, and otherwise manage the claims and their attachments.

Important: The steps for sending claims from Eaglesoft are different depending on the Eaglesoft version you are using. For Eaglesoft version 21.2 and later, a printer driver was added, so you'll want to use the steps below. For Eaglesoft version 21.1 and earlier, use these steps instead.

Note: To check your Eaglesoft version, in Eaglesoft, click Help > About. Also, if you're using a newer Eaglesoft 21.2 and later version, in the EDS Bridge, you will see a Claims tab.

If you're using an older Eaglesoft (21.1 or earlier) version, you will see the Manage Claims tab but no Claims tab.

To send claims from Eaglesoft 21.2 and later to EDS

1.   Create the claims in Eaglesoft.

2.   Click the Outstanding Insurance Claim Processing button on the toolbar.

3.   Under Show What, specify which claims and pre-authorizations to display in the list.

For claims to process correctly to EDS, you must select the correct printer.

4.   Click Setup.

5.   Next to Name, select the EDS Claims Capture printer, and then click OK.

Each claim must be assigned the most recent blank ADA form.

6.   If there are forms for other patients you want to submit, change the Form Name to the most recent Blank ADA form.

Tip: To view only unsubmitted forms, under View, select only Unsubmitted and clear the other check boxes.

7.   In the left column, select the specific claims you want to send, or select the check box at the top of the list if you want to send all claims in the list.

8.   Click Process.

9.   Click OK to print the claims.

Each time you send an electronic claim from the Eaglesoft software, the claim is first sent to the EDS software and clearing house for a validation check. Validation ensures that your claims include all the required information and attachments prior to submission for faster reimbursement and fewer delays and rejections.

Based on the results of the validation check, claims now appear on the Manage Claims tab of the EDS Bridge where you can send them to EDS and view them.
