Viewing or editing prescriptions

You can view the details of a particular prescription that has been added previously to a patient's record. You can also edit two options for the prescription as needed.

To view or edit a patient's prescription

In the Patient Prescription dialog box, select a prescription.

Note: If not all the text is visible in the Sig or Note column of a prescription, you can click that text to view the entire text.

Click the View Prescription button .

The Edit Patient Prescription dialog box appears.

Do any of the following:

Change any of the following options:

Over-The-Counter - Select or clear this checkbox to specify whether this is an over-the-counter (OTC) drug or not.

Controlled Substance - Select or clear this checkbox to specify whether this drug is a controlled substance or not.

To inactivate or reactivate the prescription, click Inactivate or Activate.

Do one of the following:

To save any changes, click Save. If you have not printed the prescription yet, a message appears, asking if you want to print it. Click Yes or No.

To print or reprint the prescription, click Print.

Note: Printing and reprinting prescriptions requires the "Patient Prescriptions, Print" security right.

Click Close.
