You can search for a word or phrase in a patient's clinical notes.
Note: Viewing clinical notes to search them requires the "Clinical Notes, Modify" security right.
To search for text in a clinical note
Do one of the following:
To search in all the patient's clinical notes, do not have a note or page selected.
To search in a specific clinical note or starting from a specific note or page, do one of the following:
Expand a date in the left pane, and then do one of the following:
Expand a date in the left pane, select the note where you want to begin searching.
Expand a date in the left pane, expand a note, select the page where you want to begin searching.
Expand a date in the left pane, expand a note, select a page, position the text cursor where you want to begin searching.
Click the Search button .
The Search Clinical Notes dialog box appears.
In the Search Text box, enter the words that you want to search for.
Select or clear the following checkboxes:
Match Case - With this checkbox selected, the search is case sensitive. With this checkbox clear, the search is not case sensitive.
Start from Top:
With this checkbox selected, the search starts at the top of the first page of the first clinical note.
With this checkbox clear, one of the following occurs:
If a note or page is not selected, the search starts at the top of the first page of the first clinical note.
If a note is selected, the search starts at the top of the first page of that clinical note.
If a page is selected, the search starts at the top of that page.
Click Next or Previous.
The first match, if found, is selected.
Click Next to continue searching forward for more matches. Click Previous to search backwards. Repeat this step as needed.
