You can create an encrypted CCD file. The encryption process satisfies the Meaningful Use criteria for the encryption of electronic health information. Access to this feature is controlled by the Meaningful Use settings for clinics.
To encrypt a file
In Office Manager, on the Analysis menu, point to Meaningful Use, and then click Encrypt File.
The Select a File to Encrypt dialog box appears.
Locate and select the desired file, and then click Open.
The File Encryption dialog box appears.
Enter a password for the encryption in the Password and Verify Password boxes. The password is masked with dots as you type unless the Show Password Text checkbox is selected.
Important:
The password must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
Write down the password, and do not lose it. The password will be required to decrypt the file. If you forget or lose the password, there is no a way to retrieve the password from the encrypted file.
