Multi-Code Setup

A multi-code allows you to post several procedures simultaneously by grouping together procedure codes that are typically recommended, scheduled, or completed at the same time. Instead of having to post or schedule each of these procedures separately, you can group them together in a multi-code, thus saving considerable time in charting, scheduling, and posting.

Note: Managing multi-codes requires the "Multi-Codes, Setup" security right.

To manage multi-codes

While logged in to the Central clinic, in Office Manager, expand the Maintenance menu, point to Practice Setup, and then click Multi-Code Setup.

If applicable, do one of the following:

If the Password - Multi-Codes, Setup dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Multi-Codes, Setup" task. Do one of the following:

If your user account has been granted the "Multi-Codes, Setup" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.

If your user account has not been granted the "Multi-Codes, Setup" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can access the Multi-Code Setup this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.

If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Multi-Codes, Setup" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can access the Multi-Code Setup this one time, do the following:

On the message, click Yes.

In the Password - Multi-Codes, Setup dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.

The Multi-Code List dialog box appears.

Perform any of the following tasks:

Add multi-codes

Edit multi-codes

Delete multi-codes

Note: If you are not logged in to the Central clinic, you can only view the multi-codes.

By default, Dentrix Enterprise includes 10 multi-codes. For details regarding these default multi-codes, refer to the following table.
