Dentrix Enterprise automatically assigns commonly used procedures to the procedure code category buttons. In Chart, you can click a procedure code category button to view a list of procedures (from the corresponding ADA Procedure Code category) that have been set up to appear in Chart. You can assign and remove procedures from a procedure code category button as needed.
To assign or remove a procedure from a procedure code category button
In Office Manager, on the Maintenance menu, point to Practice Setup, then click Procedure Code Setup.
Note: To edit procedure codes, you must be logged in to the Central clinic. Additionally, accessing Office Manager requires the "Office Manager, Open" security right, and editing procedure codes requires the "Procedure Code Setup" security right.
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Procedure Code Setup dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Procedure Code Setup" task. Do one of the following:
If your user account has been granted the "Procedure Code Setup" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.
If your user account has not been granted the "Procedure Code Setup" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can set up procedure codes this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Procedure Code Setup" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can set up procedure codes this one time, do the following:
On the message, click Yes.
In the Password - Procedure Code Setup dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
The Procedure Code Setup dialog box appears.
In the Procedure Code Category list, select a category to view the corresponding procedure codes on the right.
Do one of the following:
Double-click a procedure code.
Select a procedure code, and then click Edit.
The Procedure Code Editor - Existing dialog box appears.
Under Treatment Flags, do one of the following:
To assign the procedure code to the applicable procedure code category button in Chart, select the Show in Chart checkbox.
To remove the procedure code from the applicable procedure code category button in Chart, clear the Show in Chart checkbox.
Click Save.
A confirmation message appears.
Click Yes.
Click Close.
Return to Chart, and then refresh it.
Important: You must refresh Chart (or close and reopen it) after editing a procedure code for the change to take effect.
