To print a patient's progress notes with the chart
With a patient selected in Chart, select the desired view options for the progress notes and how you want the graphical chart to be displayed (painted by view or by date).
Notes:
The graphical chart and progress notes will be printed as they are displayed in Chart.
To print the progress notes without the graphical chart, switch to the progress notes view.
Do one of the following:
Click the Print Progress Notes With Chart button on the Progress Notes panel.
On the File menu, click Print Progress Notes With Chart.
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Print Charts or Progress Notes dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Print Charts or Progress Notes" task. Do one of the following:
If your user account has been granted the "Print Charts or Progress Notes" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.
If your user account has not been granted the "Print Charts or Progress Notes" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can print a Chart report this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Print Charts or Progress Notes" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can print a Chart report this one time, do the following:
On the message, click Yes.
In the Password - Print Charts or Progress Notes dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
The Print Progress Notes with Chart dialog box appears.
Set up the following options:
Note Range - Select one of the following options
All Progress Notes - To print all displayed progress notes.
Date Range - To print progress notes for a certain date range. With this option selected, today's date is entered in both boxes. To change the date range, do one of the following:
For a specific past date, enter that date (in a mm/dd/yyyy format) in both boxes.
For any past range of dates, enter a different dateĀ (in a mm/dd/yyyy format) in the first box to specify the starting date, and either leave today's date or enter a different dateĀ (in a mm/dd/yyyy format) in the second box to specify the ending date.
Note: Dentrix Enterprise automatically adds slashes to dates when you enter six or eight numbers (mmddyy or mmddyyyy) and then press the Tab key.
Show Encounter Numbers - To print encounter numbers instead of Social Security Numbers, select this check box; otherwise, clear this checkbox to print Social Security Numbers. With this checkbox selected, from the list, select one of the encounter numbers that have been used for the patient so only the procedures that are associated with the selected encounter number will appear on the report.
Print Procedure Amounts - To include amounts for procedures that appear on the report, select this checkbox; otherwise, clear this checkbox to not include the amounts.
Click OK.
The report is sent to the Chart printer.

The report contains the following information:
Patient Information - The patient's name, birth date, chart number, and Social Security Number appear on the report.
Graphical Chart - The graphical chart appears on the report.
