Viewing the chairside dashboard
You can show and hide the progress notes and images while working with a patient's clinical chart. Having the dental chart, progress notes, and images together in one view serves as a chairside dashboard.
Notes:

The state of the chairside dashboard (the visibility and size of the dental chart and progress notes) is saved automatically per computer (or device).

The options on the View menu are computer (or device) and user specific.

How to get there

If the correct patient is not already selected, use the Patient Search box to access the patient's record.
Note: You can include inactive patients in the search results by setting the Include inactive patients switch to On.

On the Patient menu, under Clinical, click (or tap) Chart.
The patient's clinical record opens with the Chart tab selected.
On the Chart tab of a patient's clinical record, set the Chairside dashboard switch to On.
The progress notes panel appears below the tooth chart, and the imaging panel appears on the right.
Note: In the chairside dashboard, the progress notes function as they do on the Progress Notes tab. For example, you can sort the progress notes by clicking (or tapping) a column header. Also, you can click (or tap) an item, such as a procedure or a condition, to open the corresponding dialog box.

To resize the progress notes panel, drag the sizing handle in between the tooth chart and progress notes up or down as needed. The tooth chart is resized accordingly.

To customize the view of the chairside dashboard, do the following:

From the View menu, set up the following options as needed:

Procedures - To show work and images for any date in the progress notes and on the imaging panel, select the All option. To show only the work and images for today in the progress notes and on the imaging panel, select the Today's work option. With Today's work selected, to view previous work and images that are related to (has tooth numbers in common with) any of today's work, select the Include related checkbox.

Show in Progress Notes - To show work of any type in the progress notes, select the All checkbox. To show or hide specific types of work in the progress notes, select or clear the corresponding checkboxes. The available types are Existing, Completed, Tx Plan, Condition, Prescription, Treated, Notes, and Perio Exam.

Click (or tap) Done.

To view an image, click (or tap) a thumbnail image on the imaging panel to view a larger version of it in the image viewer.
Do any of the following:

Click the Open for Editing button to open the image for editing in Dentrix Ascend's imaging program.

Click the Full Screen button to view the image fullscreen. Click the Normal Mode button to to exit the fullscreen view.

Click the Previous and Next buttons (on the left and right of the image in the viewer) to view other images from the imaging panel as needed.

Click the Close button to close the image viewer.
Tip: While the image viewer is open, you can select teeth and chart treatment as needed.

If you do not want to have the chairside dashboard on for the next time you or anyone else accesses a patient's clinical chart from this computer (or device), set the Chairside dashboard switch to Off.
