GxPicture with DEXIS Platinum Sensor Setup Guide
This guide describes the installation and setup of the DEXIS Platinum intraoral sensor for use with Dentrix Ascend Imaging via the GxPicture universal driver suite.
Overview
Dentrix Ascend Imaging supports the acquisition of intraoral images from the DEXIS Platinum intraoral X-ray sensor on a computer running the Windows operating system. Drivers for the DEXIS Platinum sensor must be installed on each computer that the DEXIS sensor will be connected to. Calibration (correction) files must be installed on each computer that the DEXIS sensor will be connected to.
Note: Prior to the installation of the GxPicture device, the acquisition agent application must be installed on each computer that will acquire images. Refer to Setting up the acquisition agent for instructions on downloading and installing the acquisition agent.

Install the correction files that match the serial number of your device. You may now connect your GxPicture device.
Notes:
-
The sensor will not operate without the correct (matching serial number) calibration files. The calibration/correction files are packaged with the sensor on a disc labeled "DEXIS Platinum Sensor File." In most cases, DEXIS can supply the calibration/correction files for the specific serial number of the sensor if the disc cannot be located and the calibration files are not already copied onto the computer.
-
If the DEXIS sensor has been previously installed and operating upon this computer (DEXIS imaging software was used previously), you may be able to skip this step. The Acquisition Agent looks in C:\DEXIS\flashdir by default for calibration files, which is where they are located for DEXIS 9.x imaging software. If you have DEXIS 10.x imaging software installed, the default location is in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), depending on whether the 64-bit or 32-bit Windows OS is installed.
Do the following:
-
On the Welcome screen of the DEXIS Platinum Sensor Files - InstallShield Wizard window, click Next.
The Choose Destination Location screen appears.
-
Click Next.
The Ready to Install the Program screen appears.
-
Click Install.
The InstallShield Wizard Complete screen appears.
-
Click Finish.
-
Place the correction files in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Gendex\GXS700_CorrectionFiles folder.
-
Connect the DEXIS Platinum sensor to the computer, and verify that the system tray app is running. If the app is green, the sensor is ready for use.
Note: If the sensor is not armed, restart the computer.
-
