Editing document details

You can add or edit the file details of documents and images attached to a patient's record.

To edit a document's details

    1. If the correct patient is not already selected, use the Patient Search box to access the patient's record.

      Note: You can include inactive patients in the search results by setting the Include inactive patients switch to On.

    2. On the Patient menu, under General, click (or tap) Document Manager.

      The patient's Document Manager page opens.

    On a patient's Document Manager page, locate the desired document.

    If the patient has many documents, you can filter and sort the document viewing area to help you locate a document.

    Do any of the following as needed:

    • To view documents by tag, under Tags (on the left), do any of the following:

      • If the Show All checkbox is selected, either clear the Show All checkbox, and then select the checkbox of any of the patient's tags you want to include and/or Not Tagged; or clear the checkbox of any of the patient's tags you want to exclude and/or Not Tagged. A document with multiple tags is included if it has at least one of the selected tags.

      • If the Show All checkbox is clear or is partially selected, to include all of the patient's tags and Not Tagged, select the Show All checkbox.

    • To search for a document by name or tag, click (or tap) in the Search by document name or tag search box, begin typing a name or tag, and continue typing as needed to reduce the number of documents in the viewing area.

    • While viewing documents in grid mode, to sort the documents in the viewing area select one of the following options from the Sort By list: Newest First (the default), Oldest First, Alphabetical A-Z (by name), or Alphabetical Z-A (by name).

    • While viewing documents in list mode, to sort the documents in the viewing area (by default, documents are sorted in reverse chronological order; newest first), do any of the following:

      • If documents are being sorted with newest first, to sort the documents chronologically (oldest first), click (or tap) the Date column header. If documents are being sorted with oldest first, to sort with newest first, click (or tap) the Date column header again.

      • If documents are being sorted by date, to sort the documents alphabetically (A-Z), click (or tap) the Document Name column header. If documents are being sorted alphabetically (A-Z), to sort in reverse alphabetical order (Z-A), click (or tap) the Document Name column header again.

  2. Click (or tap) the document's Edit button .

    The Edit File Details dialog box appears.

  3. Change any of the following as needed:

    • Title - Enter the name as you want it to appear in the document manager.

    • Date - Click (or tap) in the box, and then select a different date on the calendar that appears.

    • Tags:

      • To add tags, click (or tap) in the Search tag here box, begin typing to search for a tag, continue typing as needed to narrow the results list, and then select the correct tag. Repeat this process as needed to add other tags. You can attach up to five tags.

      • To remove tags, click (or tap) a tag's X. Repeat this process as needed to remove other tags.

  4. Click (or tap) Save.
