An Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) document is an electronic data file provided by insurance carriers containing an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for received insurance claims. Like EOBs, ERAs explain a claim's payment and adjustment information. However, unlike paper EOBs, the information is uploaded electronically into Dentrix, so your staff does not need to enter it manually.
ERAs simplify the insurance remittance process, helping your practice to realize these benefits:
To receive and process ERAs, you must meet Dentrix's software requirements, register for ERAs with Henry Schein One (HS1), and enroll with insurance carriers to receive their ERAs.
Note: You may see the term eEOBS (Electronic Explanation of Benefits) used instead of ERA on Dentrix websites, Help Files, modules, etc. ERAs and eEOBs are the same things, and they perform the same functions.
