When patients call and cancel appointments, they are often forgotten and only rescheduled if patients take the initiative to call back. To prevent these broken appointments from being forgotten, they are moved to the Unscheduled List where you can review them regularly. The patient's Family File is updated with the date that the patient broke the appointment and the number of times the patient has broken appointments.
You receive reminders of a patient's broken appointments and are prompted to reschedule the next time you try to schedule a new appointment for that patient.
To break an appointment in the Appointment List
1. In the Appointment Book, click Appt List.
The Appointment List window appears.
2. Select the appointment that you want to break.
3. Click Appointment, and then click Break Appointment(s).
The following message appears.
4. To break the appointment, click Yes.
The appointment moves to the Unscheduled List.
