Customizing alert notes

You can use alert notes to create short note templates that you can add to the patient alert notes. Alert notes can be up to 50 characters in length, and you are limited to a total of 99 alert notes.

Note: Default alert notes are included with Dentrix. However, since the Alert Notes definition type takes the place of the Custom Notes definition type, any existing Custom Note types you had in your database are transferred to alert notes.

You can create, change, and delete alert notes templates.

To customize alert notes

1.   In the Office Manager, click Maintenance, point to Practice Setup, and then click Definitions.

The Practice Definitions dialog box appears.

2.   From the Definition Type list, select Alert Notes.

The current list of alert notes appears.

3.   Do one of the following:

·        To add an alert note, type a description under Definition Text, and then, click Add.

·        To change an alert note, select the note that you want to change, type a new description under Definition Text, and then click Change. To learn more, click Changing a practice definition.
