Global Reorganize
Global Reorganize is a maintenance utility that checks all of the patient accounts for accuracy. You should run the Global Reorganize utility at least once a month, just prior to running statements.
The utility includes four steps:
· Correcting patient balances/allocations
· Setting patients with empty ledgers to zero balance
· Checking and correcting next recall dates (optional; see step 4 below)
· Checking/adjusting last visit, last payment, last recall dates, and billing cycles
Make sure all users on all computers, except the computer running the reorganization, are logged out of OMSVision before you run Global Reorganize. Everyone else must remain logged out of the program during the entire process. The Global Reorganize can take several minutes to several hours, depending on the size of your database.
To run the utility
1. From the Utilities menu, click Global Reorganize.
The Global Reorganize dialog box appears.
2. If necessary, you can limit the scope of the reorganization by last name. Clear All next to Last Names. Then, type the last name with which you want to begin in the From field and the last name with which you want to end in the To field.
3. Click Log to view the log of a previous reorganization.
4. If you clear the Update Next Recall Dates option, the Next Recall Dates will not be checked or corrected, but the utility may run much faster.
5. Click OK.
You can see the progress of the reorganization utility under Progress.
