Preferences for locking progress notes

You can set up the preference that determines if and when progress notes can be locked automatically. This setting also affect EHR narratives that have been reviewed.

To set up the preference

1.   From the Utilities menu, click Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box appears.

2.   On the Operation tab, under Progress Notes, set up the following options:

·        Lock automatically after - In the box, enter the number of days after which progress notes attached to patients will become locked to prevent editing or deletion of the progress notes.

·        Lock automatically after digital signature - To have a progress note be locked automatically after it is signed, select this check box.

3.   Click Ok.
