Setting the expiration date reminder
You can set reminders to alert you when on-hand items are about to expire.
When the time frame is reached for an expiring item, the morning update (which runs on the workstation set up as User 1) will update the reminder file and a tickler is created that notifies you that the item is going to expire.
When the expiration date of an item is reached, the item is removed from the Implant On-hand table, added to the Implant To-order table (only if the minimum on-hand amount has been reached, as well), and added to the Implant Removed table, using the "Reached Expiration Date" reason.
To set the reminder for expiration dates
1. From the Utilities menu, click Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
2. On the Operation tab, under Implant, enter the number of days before an item expires that you want to be notified in the Notify [number] days before expiration box. The default is 30 days.
3. Click Ok.
