Restricting patient name changes on appointments

A preference setting prevents you from typing a patient's first and last name in the Edit Appointment dialog.

To enable this preference

1.   From the Utilities menu, click Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box appears.

2.   On the Operation tab, under Appointment Book, select the Patient Name cannot be typed in Edit Appointment check box if you want to enable this preference. With this preference enabled, the background of the Name fields are gray.

To add or change the patient name on an appointment, you must double-click in the Name field to look up, select, and paste in a registered patient. To add or change the pre-registered patient name on an appointment, you must click Pre-Reg to look up, select, and paste in a pre-registered patient.

3.   Click Ok.
