Remote bridging
EndoVision's Remote Bridging program, dvRemote, is a local program that allows digital radiography programs to be run over Citrix or Terminal Services.
· Currently, most digital radiography programs require a USB connection, thereby, requiring a full, up-to-spec computer (a fat client).
· While you cannot use a dumb terminal (thin client) with dvRemote, you can use a computer that is old or does not meet the minimum required specifications.
To set up dvRemote
1. From the Utilities menu, click Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
2. Click the Digital Imaging tab.
3. Click Remote Bridge Settings. If this is the first time you are setting up dvRemote on your computer, the Location of dvRemote.exe dialog box appears.
4. Select Use Remote Bridging to activate dvRemote on your computer. Once Remote Bridging is activated, any bridges you have defined no longer function and must be defined with dvRemote.
5. Click Save to save any changes.
The Location of dvRemote.exe dialog disappears, and a message appears and reminds you to perform additional setup options.
6. Click OK to dismiss the message.
7. Click Ok to save any preference changes.
8. From the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
The Command Prompt window appears.
9. Type C: (if this is the drive on your computer that contains the dvwin folder), and press Enter. Type cd dvwin (if this is the location of the dvwin folder on your computer), and then press the Enter key.
10. Type dvremote.exe, and then press Enter to start dvRemote.
11. Complete the preferences in the window that appears.
12. Click Save to save and exit.
Note: After you set up dvRemote, you should place a shortcut to dvremote.exe in the Windows Startup folder on the Start menu to start dvRemote automatically after you turn on the computer (use the syntax DVREMOTE X, where "X" is your user or workstation number) and have a dvRemote icon minimized on the Windows taskbar.
