Locking structured visit notes

Locking a structured visit note prevents any providers from signing it and any further edits to it, but you can add an addendum (click the note's Edit link). You can only lock a note once all providers that are required to sign have signed.

To lock a structured visit note

1.   In the hard tissue chart or periodontal chart, click a note's Sign or Lock link. The Sign is available only if the note requires one or more provider signatures and has not been locked. The Lock link is available only if the note does not require a signature and is not already locked.

2.   Do one of the following:

·        If you clicked Sign in step 1, the Sign Structured Visit Note dialog box appears. Select your provider name, enter your password, and then click Lock.

·        If you clicked Lock in step 1, a confirmation message appears. Click Yes.

A locked note has a padlock icon next to it.
