Setting up custom views

You can customize the information you see in the Schedule, and if you want, you can even set up a different view for each computer. For instance, you can set up one computer to only view hygiene appointments in an operatory and set up another to view only a specific doctor’s appointments.

You can also select what information will show on each line of the appointment in the Schedule.

To set up a custom view

1.   In the Schedule toolbar, click the View button.

The Select View dialog box appears.

2.   To create a new view, click New.

The View Setup dialog box appears.

3.   Select the providers you want to assign to this view.

Note: Selecting a provider displays the provider tracking column along the left side of Schedule for the selected provider. Appointments scheduled in a displayed operatory will always show regardless of the provider assigned to the appointment.

4.   Select the operatories that you want to view.

Note: You can view up to ten operatories at a time.

5.   Under Select Days, select the days that you want to view.

6.   Under Appointment Display Info, select the information that you want to display from the lists:

·        [none] – To display nothing on the line.

·        Name – To have the patient's name appear on the appointment. Typically, this item is assigned to the first position.

·        Appt Reason – To have the reason for the appointment appear. If you frequently schedule several procedures for an appointment, you can use back-to-back lines for the Appointment Reason line so that if the description does not fit on a single line, the text is wrapped to the next line.

·        Phone – To have the patient's home phone number appear on the appointment.

·        Provider – To have the provider ID appear on the appointment.

·        Work Phone – To have the patient's work phone number appear on the appointment.

·        Pref. Name – To have the patient's preferred name appear on the appointment. Do not use this option in place of the Name option because Easy Dental will leave the line blank if the patient does not have a preferred name.

·        Chart Num – To have the patient's chart number appear on the appointment.

Note: The blocks of time you set in practice setup allow you to view several lines of information depending on the length of the patient’s appointment. You can choose the information that you want to display in Schedule and prioritize up to eight lines of information. You can view Appt Reason on two consecutive lines so that more ranges are displayed.

7.   The following view options are set by default.

·        View Appt. Notes - Displays a note symbol in the upper-right corner of any appointment that has a note.

·        View Patient Alerts - Causes a medical alert symbol to appear in the upper-right corner of an appointment for patients with medical alerts.

·        View Provider Columns - Displays the provider tracking column along the left side of the schedule.

Note: If you select work phone, preferred name, chart number or patient alerts, Schedule may become a little slower because more fields are read.

8.   Click OK.
