Finding open time blocks

You can use the Schedule to find open time blocks and generate a list of available time slots.

To find an open time block

1.   In the Schedule toolbar, click the Schedule Appointment button.

The Select Patient dialog box appears.

2.   Select the patient you want to schedule an appointment for, and then click OK.

The New Appointment Information dialog box appears.

3.   Set the reason for the appointment.

4.   Click Find.

The Find New Appointment Time dialog box appears.

5.   Do the following:

·        Select Provider(s) – Select the provider or providers you want to search for.

·        Select Op(s) – Select the operatory or operatories you want to search for.

·        Search By Assigned Operatories Only – Select to search for operatories assigned to the providers you specified.

·        Select Days – Select the day or days that the patient can come.

·        Start Date – Do one of the following:

·        Type a date other than the default current date to start the search from.

·        Click the search button and select a start date from the Select Date dialog box.

·        Increase the start date by days, weeks, or months at a time by clicking the appropriate option and then clicking the appropriate number button (1 through 6).

·        Time Range – Set the length of the appointment in minutes by clicking the arrows, and then select a time range to search. For example, if the patient is only available between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., click the Start and End search buttons respectively and select those times from the Select Time dialog box.

·        Select Time Block – Select to search for a specific time block and then select the appropriate block from the list.

·        Search By Appt Type – Select to search by appointment type and then select the appropriate type from the list.

6.   Do one of the following:

·        Click Search/View.

The Available Appointment Times dialog box appears.

 

·        Select a time range that meets the patient’s schedule. If there are no ranges that meet the patient’s schedule, click More to view additional ranges.

·        Click View to see the time range in the Schedule window or click View Next to view the next available time range.

·        Click Select to set the appointment within the selected time range.

Easy Dental enters the date and time in the New Appointment Information dialog box.

·        Click Search.

The Available Appointment Times dialog box appears.

Note: You cannot view the time in Schedule using this option.

·        Select the appropriate appointment time from the list.

·        Click Select to set the appointment within the selected time range.

7.   To set the appointment within the selected time range, click OK.
