Inactivating providers

You cannot delete providers from Easy Dental. You can, however, inactivate a provider. When you inactivate a provider, you must select a replacement. The replacement provider replaces the inactive provider as the patient's primary and continuing care provider in future appointments, treatment plans, and so on. All procedures and payments remain with the inactive provider.

Note: Back up your Easy Dental database before inactivating a provider.

To inactivate a provider

1.   Close Easy Dental on all workstations, except for the computer you are using, and open the Reports module.

2.   In the Patient Banner, click the Settings button.

The Settings dialog box appears.

3.   In the Practice Setup list, click Practice Resource Setup.

The Practice Resources dialog box appears.

4.   Under Provider(s), select the provider that you want to inactivate.

5.   Click Inactivate.

The Inactivate Provider dialog box appears.

6.   Read thoroughly the changes that occur when you inactivate a provider.

7.   To select a new provider, click the Select Replacement Provider search button.

The Select Provider dialog box appears.

8.   Select the appropriate provider, and then click OK.
