The Perio Chart controls

You can enter measurements and other data by using the keyboard or the Perio Chart controls. The list below outlines the function of each item in the Perio Chart controls.

·        Tooth # - Refers to the tooth being charted.

·        Mobility - Allows you to select a mobility classification. The number appears in the center of the PMB line on the data chart.

·        Tooth Code - Displays applicable condition information about the tooth.

·        Furcation Grade - Allows you to select a furcation grade. Click the Furcation Grade(s) search button. The Furcation Grade dialog box appears. Furcation grades relevant to the selected tooth appear in the lists. Select the furcation you want, and then click OK.

·        Plaque - Allows you to select a plaque classification. From the list, select the appropriate classification. A corresponding number appears to the left of center in the PMB line on the data chart.

·        Bone Loss - Allows you to select a bone loss classification. From the list, select the appropriate classification. A corresponding number appears to the right of center in the PMB line on the data chart.

·        Facial/Lingual - Click to switch between surface selections.

·        Probing Depth - Allows you to enter probing depth measurements. Easy Dental automatically advances through the boxes depending on your path settings.

Note: Depending on the calculation option you selected in the Perio Entry Setup dialog box, Probing Depth may be grayed out. See Setting calculation options for more information.

·        B (Bleeding) - Click the B oval to indicate a bleeding point on the tooth. A red oval corresponding to the selected tooth and site appears on the data chart.

Note: Pressing the B key at the appropriate point in the path accomplishes the same task.

·        S (Suppuration) - Click the S oval to indicate an infection point on the tooth. A yellow oval corresponding to the selected tooth and site appears on the data chart.

Note: Pressing the S key at the appropriate point in the path accomplishes the same task.

·        To add both suppuration and bleeding to the same tooth, hold down CTRL and press the B key. Both suppuration and bleeding symbols will be added to the selected tooth.

·        Gingival Margin - Allows you to enter gingival margin measurements. Easy Dental automatically advances through the boxes depending on your path settings.

Note: Depending on the calculation option you selected in the Perio Entry Setup dialog box, Gingival Margin may be grayed out. See Setting calculation options for more information.

·        Clinical Attachment Level - These boxes allow entry of the CAL. Easy Dental automatically advances through the boxes depending on your path settings.

Note: Depending on the calculation option you selected in the Perio Entry Setup dialog box, Clinical Att. Level may be grayed out. See Setting calculation options for more information.

·        MGJ - Allows you to enter mucogingival junction measurements. Easy Dental automatically advances through the boxes depending on your path settings.

·        1- - Occasionally, a measurement is greater than nine millimeters. Click 1-, and then click the appropriate number from the keypad for higher numbers. For example, if the pocket depth is 12 millimeters, click the 1-, and then click 2. Measurements greater than nine millimeters appear as > on the data chart.

·        + - Occasionally, the gingival margin is above the MGJ. In these cases, enter the measurement as a positive number. Click +, and then click the appropriate number.

Note: This button only works when you are entering a GM measurement. To show that the GM is a positive number, it appears on the data chart as a white number in a black square.
