Creating patient alerts

You can set a time limit on patient alerts so that you only see patient alerts when the information is timely. And, you can select which areas display the alert so that you only see the alert when it is pertinent.

To create a patient alert

1.   Do one of the following:

·        In the Patients toolbar, click the Alerts button.

·        In the Patient Banner, click the Patient Alerts icon.

The Create Patient Alert dialog box appears.

2.   Under Select Date, do one of the following:

·        Type a date range to set the amount of time the patient alert appears.

·        Select Always to permanently display the patient alert.

3.   To determine the areas to display patient alerts in, do one of the following:

·        From the list, select the Easy Dental areas that you want to display patient alerts in.

·        Select All to display patient alerts in all areas.

4.   Under Description, type a description for the Patient Alert.

Note: The text field is limited to 15 characters. You can use the description to name the type of alert, such as Balance Overdue or Pre-medicate.

5.   Under Note, type a detailed description of the alert.

Note: You must enter a description, note, and date range before you can save the alert.

6.   Under Options, do the following:

·        Select Show Alert Symbol on Appointment to have the Patient Alert icon appear on the patient's scheduled appointments.

·        Select Display Aged Balance with Note to display the family's aged balance with the alert.

7.   Click OK.
