Adding labs using DDX

You can add the labs you will be sending lab cases to. You can manually add and edit lab information. You can also add and edit lab information using DDX, or you can delete labs that you added manually or that you added using DDX.

To add a lab using DDX

1.   In the Lab Case Manager toolbar, click Setup, and then click Lab.

The Setup Lab(s) dialog box appears.

2.   Click Add.

The New Lab dialog box appears.

3.   To search the Labnet database for a lab, click Search DDX.

The Lab Case Manager dialog box appears.

 

4.   In the Search By list, select a search option.

5.   In Enter Lab Name, type the text that you want to search for.

Note: The text will differ depending on the Search By option that you selected.

6.   Do one of the following, and then click Search:

·        Select Match Exactly to conduct a search that exactly matches the text you entered.

·        Select Containing to conduct a search based on a portion of the text you entered.

The results appear in the information pane.

7.   Select the lab that you are searching for from the information panel.

Note: If you cannot find the lab that you are looking for in the list provided, try different search criteria.

8.   To return to the New Lab dialog box, click OK.

The information for the lab you selected populates the fields of the New Lab dialog box.

9.   Under Default Options, select the appropriate options for this lab.

Note: These options appear when you select a specific lab but can be changed manually for each case.

·        Ship to Method - From the list, select the shipping method that you will use most with this particular lab. See Setting up shipping methods for information.

·        Receive From Method - From the list, select the shipping method that you will use most when things are returned from this particular lab. See Setting up shipping methods for information.

·        Shade Guide - From the list, select the shade guide that you will use most often with this lab. See Setting up shade guides and shades for information.

·        Use Practice Info on Reports - Click to print the practice name and address on the lab reports instead of the provider information.

·        Use Provider Info on Reports - Click to print the provider’s name and address print on the lab reports instead of the practice information.

·        International Tooth Numbering - Click if you want to flag the lab as using international tooth numbering.

·        Default Lab - Click if you want all cases to use this lab by default when you create a case. You can change the lab manually for each case if necessary. You can only select one lab as the default lab.

10. To verify the DDX login for the selected lab, type the account code and password, and then click Verify Login.

Note: If the account code or password is incorrect, a message appears. Reenter the account code and password and try to verify your login again. You must obtain the account code and password from a lab participating in DDX. A lab can register at www.ddxdental.com. Please contact the lab affiliated with DDX for a user name and password.

11. Under Case Note, do one of the following:

·        Type a default note for this lab if necessary.

·        Click Custom Notes and select a custom note. To learn more, click Setting up custom case notes.
