Setting up referrals

You can use eCentral to send electronic referrals to other dental professionals. To send referrals, you must set up the providers you will be sending referrals to in the Reports module, your eCentral website, and the EasyWeb toolbar. You must set up referral providers in EasyWeb before you can upload referrals to that provider.

To set up referrals

1.   In the EasyWeb toolbar, click Settings, and then click Referral Setup.

The Select Referred To dialog box appears.

 

2.   Select the provider’s name from the list, or enter the first few letters of the provider’s last name and click the search button, and then click OK.

The Referral Settings dialog box appears.

 

3.   Under Referral Source, the contact information (name, address, phone, fax, and e-mail) of the referral provider you selected appears. Verify that the information is correct.

·        To change any of the provider’s contact information, from the Patients window, double-click the Referred By or To block, select the provider, and click Edit to edit the provider’s contact information.

·        If you selected the wrong provider, click the search button.

The Select Referred To dialog box appears again. Select the correct provider and repeat step 3.

5.   In the User Name field, type the user name you found in the Professional Contact list of the eCentral website.

·        If you do not have the user name, open the eCentral website, and click the Referral Center tab.

·        Click Professional Contact List, and search for the provider.

·        Copy the provider’s user name from the User Name column to the User Name field of the Referral Settings dialog box.

6.   Under E-mail Addresses, do one of the following:

·        Select Primary E-mail Address or Secondary E-mail Address and then type the provider's e-mail address to send referral notifications to.

·        If you don’t want to send e-mail notifications of referrals, clear Send E-mail Notification.

Note: Once you have set up referrals, you can set up the referral upload to send referrals during WebSync and the referral upload override to send a few referrals at a time without running WebSync.
